ARTIST STATEMENT

I LOVE TO PAINT!  My interest in it started at a later age (mid-forties), and it is my passion now. I am self-taught, and painting in watercolor was the first medium I tried. I would classify myself as a colorist, which is why I’m drawn to watercolor. In no other medium do colors flow together so beautifully.

As a beginning artist, I painted realistically, but as time went on I began to paint more abstractly, and then began to mix other mediums with watercolors. I paint whatever subject strikes my fancy, so there isn’t a particular theme to what I paint, but flowers seem to especially lend themselves to the flow of watercolor.
