Unitarian prophet Theodore Parker stated that “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.” As we celebrate Juneteenth and mark the symbolic anniversary of the end of American slavery, we will reflect on how the forces of liberation and oppression have existed in our shared history and continue to exist within our culture today. What is our role in “bending the arc towards justice” in our city and world right now? Our service on June 16 will include an update from our “Beloved Conversations” Team which has been working this year to begin to explore how we might intentionally make our congregation more multicultural in the ways we do church together.
