The Justice Center at All Peoples works to engage and mobilize our Congregation and the surrounding Communities (of Eastern Jefferson County) in meaningful justice advocacy and activism.

The Justice Center achieves these goals by engaging in a variety of efforts including: education, training, networking, advocacy and community organizing, such as:

  • provide classes on issues related to justice, justice advocacy and activism;
  • offer trainings to help develop the capacity and confidence of individuals to engage in justice efforts;
  • network with area congregations and community-based organizations who are working to advance justice;
  • directly advocate at the community and state-level to advance policies that promote or advance justice; and
  • organize in our community (ies) to make meaningful change.

Current Campaigns:

Climate Change Project, which seeks to address the moral and ethical justice aspects of the climate crisis thru the lens of our 7th Unitarian Universalist Principle is working within our congregation, and with a coalition of interfaith congregations to support Metro Council to move towards solar powered electricity generation on all Metro Buildings.

We’re working to protect and ensure reproductive justice by mobilizing our community and congregational partners to defeat the 2022 constitutional amendment to ban abortions in Kentucky. The Justice Center works in partnership with the Kentucky Health Justice Network, the Kentucky Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, and Planned Parenthood.

Every year, we mobilize our congregation and the other UU Congregations in Louisville to participate in the Gay Pride Parade.

Recent Successes:

Human Rights Day: For an Overview and Video of this event: Human Rights Day

In 2020 the Justice Center launched the Kentucky Unitarian Universalist Justice Network (KUUJAN). The network strives to support the UU congregations and members in Kentucky to engage in meaningful justice advocacy and activism, and is the state-wide UU voice for justice
