Edna was raised Southern Baptist although she wanted to be a Catholic. Her epiphany came when her Baptist minister told her whether she was going to heaven or hell and she couldn’t believe him.
Edna began coming to TJ with a friend. Her first impression was that the service was strange. Edna was impressed with
the number of women who took an active part in the service. Edna has been involved in the breast cancer community for
over 30 years. She has served on the Board of Directors of Susan B. Coleman, received the Bell Award (awarded by
channel 32) for her volunteerism and just received the key to the Middletown Chamber of Commerce as an advocate and a
survivor of breast cancer. For the last 28 years, Edna has volunteered at the James Brown Cancer Center fitting for
prosthesis and surgical for underserved and uninsured women.
Lastly, in this month’s issue of the Voice, Edna was featured in a two page article…”Healing Thru Heartache”.
The article is posted on our “Our Folks in the News” board.
