Our Governance
Our Bylaws
These Bylaws are made by the Congregation pursuant authority contained in the Articles of Incorporation duly filed and recorded in the office of the Secretary of State at Frankfort, Kentucky, on November 8, 1960, to which reference should be made for information as to the purposes of the Society, its general powers, and certain restrictions as to the exercise thereof, particularly in respect of transactions involving real estate. The right to make, amend, or revoke Bylaws is vested in the Congregation. Read the set of bylaws here.

Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees has the authority to perform duties of the congregation including conducting the business of the church and care of the Church and its property, except for the assets of the Endowment Fund. (Bylaws VI 1)
Trustees of the Board should exemplify and support the TJ Mission, Vision, and Values, the UUA principles, and demonstrate respect for the TJ Congregation and Board of Trustee Covenants
Endowment Fund Board
It is the mission of the Endowment Fund Board to provide for the safekeeping, management, preservation, and investment of the fund. The Endowment Fund Board seeks to ensure that the Church has adequate funding to provide for the expansion of the facilities of the Church, for the replacement of major parts of those facilities, for the performance of good works and acts of beneficence, and for conferring honors, appropriate to the goals and stated purpose of the Church.
Endowment grants (approved by the congregation in the fall of 2020) made it possible to create All Peoples new signage for the church and Justice Center, and the Name Change celebration expenses in September 2021 among other things. It is our congregational gifts and votes that made this possible.
Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee: Prepares nominations to the Board of Trustees, Endowment Fund Board; standing committees including Personnel and Nominating; may be asked by the Board, Membership Coordinator, or Committee Chairs to assist in recruiting volunteers to other church committees; if needed, to assist with filling Trustee vacancies during the year; and, if needed, with nominating congregational members to a Ministerial Search Committee.
The Nominating Committee meets a minimum of five months a year.
